The past six years doesn't stop here, I've just moved!

Since August 2005, I have been living on Blogger's free & simple platform to write all about what I have discovered while using the SAS Business Intelligence tools. (Wow, still can't believe it's been 6 years!)

Anyhow, this is my last post on http://sas-bi.blogspot.com/ as I have now been officially added to the SAS blogging world. As of August 2, 2011 only my most recent 10 posts have been migrated into the new platform. But over the next six months, the other 235 prior posts will be moved over.

http://blogs.sas.com/content will offer customers, users, partners, and other interested parties a coordinated view of all the wonderful SAS content provided by employees. Search by topic, see most recent posts across the blogs, and quickly share via twitter or facebook!

My new blog location is:

  28. I would disagree. The BI tool is only as good as the backend and the coding behind the Data Warehouse. Therefore, my opinion is that neither are as good or worse. It all depends on the backend and how the Relational models have been developed.

I have seen enough projects completely flop due to too much logic being pushed into the front end tool and the database was treated a dumb terminal. If I wanted too, I could have Build this really robust backend Oracle Database and use Excel as my reporting tool and "crush" the off shelf front end BI Tools.
